Course Information and Booking
Whether you’re an experienced sewer looking to learn a new skill, or someone new to the rhythm of needle and thread, Cocoon Home runs soft furnishing courses throughout the year at the London Metropolitan University, Victoria Hammond Interiors and at her North London workroom. Angela teaches both adults and children and is available for private tuition if you would prefer her all to yourself.
Traditional and Advanced Lampshade Making Courses
If you’d rather try your hand at making a lampshade than commissioning one from Cocoon Home, our courses are perfect. Over two days, you will learn how to make a balloon lined bowed empire shade using traditional hand stitching techniques. This course can be followed up with the advanced course, where students will make a swathed pleated lampshade, and given all the knowledge, through demonstration and discussion, to make gathered and ruched shades. Comprehensive notes and full instructions on how to tackle many other types of frames are also covered.
If you’re hands are itching for needle and thread and space at home to create is limited, lampshade making is the ideal string to add to your bow.
For courses held at Cocoon Home, tickets are non refundable. Tickets are only transferable if we are able to sell the space. Cocoon Home reserves the right to cancel the course at any time. In the extremely unlikely event this should happen, ticket holders will receive a full refund.
