In October last year, I moved into an extremely spacious live/work unit, two floors below where I was originally living and working. Previously, it was more living among my work than having a good balance between the two. Now I have a large work area, living space, dining section and a bedroom. I’ve struggled to do it up as I’ve been so busy and had no time to sew for myself. But I haven’t stopped thinking about it.
One area that I’ve been stumped on is what colour/pattern of fabric to use to make a curtain to separate where I sleep to where I live when awake. Last night, as I bored myself with my tax return (I hate January), the light bulb in my head lit up. Tropical leaves. Procrastinating, I found the perfect fabric. The problem? At £132 per metre, I can’t afford it. The fabric (shown above, far right) is designed by Christian Lacroix for Designers Guild. I’m very difficult to please when it comes to design, and I am struggling to find something that I love and can afford. So, I am asking for your help. Keep an eye out. If you see anything that is similar, let me know. I am on a mission!
